MACH 2008: 600 Group dynamic

“With a larger stand at MACH 2008 than at the last exhibition we will be a forceful presence at the show” says Stephen Le Beau, Group Marketing Director for 600 Group. “From that stand we can meet virtually any manufacturing requirement.

Eighteen months ago, we announced that one of the major planks in the Group’s new business strategy was to become more customer-orientated and to focus on providing applications-led solutions.  This is the first public demonstration of just how serious we are in that intent.

“Another first, in line with the strategy, is that the Group stand will be run by  600 Centre, our UK distributor, and will be more focussed on demonstrating to engineering solutions to manufacturing applications rather than product as we have in the past.  The stand will be staffed by applications engineers offering to develop application-specific solutions to customers as well as sales engineers seeking to help customers with less complex projects”.

600 Group has dedicated the time since the last MACH to building and strengthening its routes to market as well as its own-manufactured brands and its portfolio of principles to ensure it can meet a customer’s requirement.  The results will be seen publicly in one place for the first time at MACH.  The distribution routes to market have been reinforced all over the world.  More than anywhere else, this is obvious in the UK with the flourishing of 600 Centre, where new facilities have been installed, and the engineering, applications and sales teams have been increased substantially.

Flagship distributor for the Group, 600 Centre’s impressive portfolio of principals has been broadened to make it a one-stop shop for virtually every manufacturing company.  Stephen says “We can now offer a customer everything from the highest technology solutions incorporating such high-technology brands as Fanuc, Fuji and Toyoda-Mitsui Seiki, through medium technology, productive machine tools from our own Colchester-Harrison range to simpler, value-for-money Dalian machine tools.  The addition of the Dalian range of machines, manufactured in China and supported by our 4 Star Assurance, broadens the portfolio so we truly can be a comprehensive supplier of machine tools to the UK industry”.  The productive application of new technology from within the Group’s own-manufactured products will be demonstrated by new machine tools available within the Colchester-Harrison range, another demonstration of how effectively – and how quickly – the strategy is being implemented.

“We are the largest machine tool and laser marking Group in the UK, providing customers with excellent applications engineering from the broadest range of machine tools and ancillary equipment supported by an acknowledged financial stability” Stephen concluded.  “MACH 2008 is a pivotal show for us.  It is the first public manifestation of the new strategy and the innumerable ways customers can benefit from working with us to enhance their productivity and profitability”.
