600 Group: a buoyant MACH 2008
600 Group reports splendid results from MACH 2008, with over 1200 serious enquiries at the show for all 600 Group products.
600 Group is reporting results from MACH 2008 that are “splendid”. Ten machines were sold from the 600 Centre stand during the show, both the Electrox and Pratt Burnerd International/Crawford Collets stand enjoyed more activity on the stand than at the last MACH, with Crawford Collets selling a collet chuck within fifteen minutes of the show opening. Over 1200 serious enquiries were received for 600 Group products.
Marketing Director Stephen Le Beau said “We were extremely pleased with the results from this MACH – there will be no difficulty in justifying our substantial 5-stand presence at the show. All our companies performed well and have results which have surpassed the previous show, which we had in itself found a fruitful show. What impressed us most was the quality as well as the quantity of the visitors we had on the stands, and that most of those visitors were actively shopping for machines and equipment they need to purchase in the immediate future. We found it a very buoyant show, with visitors confident in the future of their manufacturing operations in the UK”.
This MACH was the first public demonstration of the Group’s three strand machine tool strategy, crystallised physically through the concept of having 3 adjoining stands. Across the three stands, the Group was demonstrating its Solutions business, which delivers sophisticated high technology products for specialised and discerning customers, the Colchester-Harrison range of high quality, highly productive CNC machine tools, and the Dalian value range of machines. The three machine tool stands, along with both Electrox and Pratt Burnerd/Crawford Collets, were actively supported by 600 Finance (a collaboration between 600 Group and Close Asset Finance) to help with competitive and friendly finance packages created specifically to enable end-users to beat the “credit crunch”.
The show was also the opportunity for the introduction of a wide range of new products, laser markers and machine tools from the Group’s manufacturing operations. Electrox launched the new folded Raptor and e-Box entry level laser marking system, realising an even higher level of interest than they had hoped for. Pratt Burnerd introduced the new long stroke chuck, the new Pratt HP 40 toolpost and the Riten large centres. Crawford Collets introduced the new self-contained pneumatic power collet chuck. Colchester-Harrison were showing the new twin spindle twin turret Tornado TT6.
Chief Executive of the Group, Andrew Dick, said “MACH 2008 has proved to be the ideal venue for promoting the benefits of latest technology machine tools, laser marking and accessories to a wide audience and the excellent. Our results have been extremely encouraging, indicating that the strategy which we launched at the end of 2006 is proving effective in making us a leading power in the machine tool and manufacturing industries. We enjoyed considerable success at EMO last September and our success at MACH has shown further progress against our strategy”.
